Rhino template files reset on update?

Is it possible that the template files in Rhino get reset or rather re-added on every update? Seeing all the templates from McNeel have very new modified/created dates it would appear that way.

I distinctly remember deleting all the templates using feet, inches, etc. and only leaving the metric ones, but now I get presented with the whole list again.

Our custom templates are still there.

Is it possible that even Rhino point updates reset these files? That would suggest that we shouldn’t change the default templates, but only use custom copies of them.

I just did a test. Going between the same SR release 8.10.1 to 8.10.2 does not overright the templates. However, uninstalling first then reinstalling will overright the templates. Also, going from Rhino 8.9 to Rhino 8.10 overwrote the templates. Yes, my recommendation is to do a File > Save as Template… and rename any custom templates for that reason.

You can change the location template files are stored:
Options > Rhino options > Files

I do not know if a reinstalled Rhino will retain the custom location of the template files.
