Hello I am trying to create the surface in rhino which is shown below. I was thinking to use sub d and manipulate some edges to get this form, but I am not getting typology of this form. Can anyone help me with this surface.
Looks like a minimal surface, they were popular in the early 2000s. You can generate those in Wolfram Mathematica or Mathworks Matlab. You could alternatively follow this SolidWorks modelling strategy (Rhino has the better surfacing tools). All you need is to surface the primary domain and then rotate/mirror.
thanks for your reply I have the software you mentioned will check that for this surface. But any modelling strategy without using complex maths equations.
Then I’d use the SolidWorks strategy. Surface one domain, and simply rotate/copy. It also very much depends on if you’re after the exact surface for analytical reasons, or for a less critical use case.
I just figured out that too and came online to upload this, And guess what I already had answer from you. I would have saved my 2 hours if I would have come to forum earlier. I was trying it using expression editor.
But we would have to use cage editing I guess to get the exact form which I initially posted. Because the lobes are attracted towards center of the form
