Rhino sun position - UI bug

Problem: We set rhino sun with lat/long and gmt=0 (unset).
However!! Rhino UI still showed UTC +1 / Amsterdam.

So even though we set our sun wrongly, there is still a Rhino UI issue.

Is there a bug in the sun settings in rhino?

I see two bugs:

1. time offset not applied: I set my project to amsterdam (GMT +1)… As I understand it, that means that 11:00 in UTC is 12:00 in amsterdam. But rhino shows both as 12:00:

Bug 2 - DST can be applied at winter:

This is super error prone, that people can toggle on DST, which is usually from end march to sometime in oktober if im not wrong, on in say January. So shifting the hours in a month where you shouldnt.

Either this is wrong or it is poorly documented (or i am a retard… could be).

But if it is wrong then consequences are huge as people use this for documentation of building permits etc etc.

bug 2 seems like “this is the way Rhino has always done it…” atleast in rhino 7 also

It’s definitely a self caused problem. No bug on my side with the same settings.

I’m using the latest version of Rhino 8.

Thanks - I realized the bug:

We accidentally set timezone to 0 instead of 1 when setting the sun through API. However the UI still showed (Amsterdam +1).
