I am a student studying outside the US and am planning to buy another laptop with better specs within 6 months to a year. I wanted to know that if I buy Rhino (educational) now will I be able to transfer it from my current laptop to the new one? it will be the same user and and the same account
Yes as long as you are using Cloud Zoo.
If you are using the Cloud Zoo you would be able to use your Rhino on any computer you own, just one at a time. You need to close Rhino when you are done using it on one computer so you can open it on a different one. As a cloud service, Cloud Zoo requires your computer to have an internet connection.
If, as I originally interpreted your question, you are asking whether you can permanently remove Rhino from one computer and then install it on a different one with the same license then the answer is yes. If you are using a stand-alone license then I believe you may need to coordinate with McNeel Sales or your Reseller.
I use a standalone license myself, so I’m not much of an expert on the details of using the Cloud Zoo.
No need with the Cloud Zoo to close Rhino on one computer to use the same license on another computer. The Cloud Zoo just disables use of Rhino while leaving it open on the first computer until you close it or switch back to using it. What isn’t possible is for two people (or perhaps one person with one hand per computer) to be using the same license simultaneously on two computrers, or fo have rendering running on one computer while using the same license to work with Rhino on another computer.
