Rhino Render comes to a halt

i7 24GB and Rhino Render freezes the mouse.
Freezes for a 30sec or so able to move mouse for a sec, the freezes again.

Rendering is continuing on the back ground but
difficulty stopping the rendering and checking rendering by zooming and such.

Just need to set the number of threads to use?
Should I add more RAM?

Perhaps the scene was a bit heavy…

But in such a case, is way to keep mouse not freezing 1)putting more RAM?
2)or Limiting the thread in rhino render?
3)perhaps the new battery bar in windows impacts alot now? using laptop and setting to better battery at the moment.

Hello - see Options > Rhino Render Options page - you can limit the number of threads there as well as priority. I see mine is set to 7, so I must have seen something like what you’re reporting.

Thank you. I’ll set that. Tho I feel maybe it should be fixed somehow…
If adding more RAM helps I also like to consider that as an option. Do you know if it’ll help or is it more on CPU related?

I would test… if removing one or two threads makes the problem go away, then mot likely it is a CPU thing, is my guess…
