Rhino r8 vs AutoCad 2024 Impressions

  • Version 8 SR17 (8.17.25043.10001, 2025-02-12)

I ran one of my Rhino r8 DWG files (created in Rhino) through Acad 2024 (we are a large autocad shop).

Immediate impressions.

  1. SpaceMouse runs flawlessly on AutoCad 2024. No annoying long lag at file startup like it does in Rhino r8

  2. File Stability - Random Rhino file crashes. The Rhino file(s) will open without error on the next attempt. Seeing this problem frequently. Ive let many of these files pass through to McNeel for review.

I’m a die hard RHINO user. Im watching other users at our company also crash rhino files and can’t help but wonder how long before it impedes our workflow (deadlines) and mgmt forces a new direction.
