If you have a older version of Revit you can get the RC or daily build as described here..

I have exactly same issues. When I deactive the RiR for Revit 2025, the error is gone. As long as, i have RiR active, it crushed immediately.
Here is the Version:
Rhino.Inside Revit 1.31.9214.19602
Rhino 8.20
Revit_2025.4

Furthermore, I already tried to uninstall RiR and Revit twice. It doesn’t work neither .
Is there any update solution about this issue?

I’m also getting the ‘Steel Add-In encountered an error’ crash

We’ve had some success on other machines using RiR 1.28, however this doesn’t work for me and causes a crash. I’m using the below:

Revit 2025.4
Rhino 8.22
RiR 1.28

We’ve been trying to solve this internally across different machines and get different results, some success, for others the file crashes on opening.

Turns out it was due to having Rhino set to launch when Revit start. This has been plaguing me for months, so glad to finally get to the bottom of it.

Warning to other having this issue - make sure ‘Start Rhino on startup’ isn’t ticked in RiR!

Hi Japhy, still have the same issue, the tab doesnt appear after the installation. Rhino 8.23.25251.13001 / RIR 1.32.9327.20567 / revit 2025.4

daily build can resolve the problem, or there is another solution. Thanks :slight_smile:

Edit : Updated revit to 2025.4.3 and it worked..

Hi Mi Nawr,

If you were having issues with the most recent installer, you may have a plugin/addin conflict. Also note that Revit 2025 and above require Rhino 8.

Hello Japhy,
I have a problem where RIR is installed in 2023, 2024 and 2026, but it skips 2025.4. There is no add-in in the folder and no RhinoInside.Revit folder containing the DLLs.

“RhinoInside.Revit_1.35.9607.16352”

Edit: It’s been resolved; the IT department had to log in with their own admin account and install it through that account, whereas running it as administrator with mine had caused the problem.

Is there a Revit Addin loaded in 2025 that is not in 2026? (they share the same .netcore version)

Both versions of Revit had only the base installation—without any extra plugins—installed; however, it has finally worked out now that IT installed it using their own account. The issue apparently stemmed from the “Run as administrator” command when they attempted to install it via my account. Although I don’t understand why this only caused problems with the 2025 version, everything is running smoothly now; I am satisfied and able to get back to work.
