Rhino.Inside.Civil3d Beta Testing Group

Rhino.Inside.Civil3d Beta Testing Group

Report bugs and request features for Rhino.Inside.Civil3D. Include your Civil 3D version, Rhino version, and sample files where possible.

This group is the dedicated space for Rhino.Inside.Civil3D beta testers to report bugs and suggest features. Keeping these separate from general discussion helps us triage efficiently and ensures nothing gets lost.

Bug reports - what to include

  • A clear description of what happened versus what you expected

  • Steps to reproduce

  • Civil 3D version and Rhino version

  • A sample .dwg or .gh file if possible (even a simplified one helps)

  • Screenshots or short screen recordings where relevant

Feature requests - what to include

  • The Civil 3D object and operation type (e.g. “Create Alignment from Polyline”, “Query Corridor Baseline Regions”)

  • Your use case - what workflow would this unblock or improve?

  • Priority relative to your day-to-day work

Current roadmap scope

The component library targets Query, Edit, and Create operations across: Alignments, Profiles, TIN Surfaces, Corridors (Baselines & Baseline Regions), Feature Lines, COGO Points, Property Sets, Subassemblies, Assemblies, Pipe Networks, Pressure Networks, and TIN Volume Surfaces. Feature requests within this scope are most likely to land during the beta period, but we welcome suggestions beyond it too.

Please don’t post here

  • General workflow questions or how-to discussions (use the main Rhino.Inside.Civil3D category)

  • Rhino.Inside.AutoCAD issues (use the AutoCAD category)

For those invited to the beta testing group, use this chat to share ideas, add feature requests and report any bugs. We will announce release versions here.

Do you want to participate?

If so, and you are an active Civil3d user, DM me your email and we’ll add you to the beta group.

Next steps

We’re actively building Rhino.Inside.Civil3d (RiC3d) and are aiming to deploy the beta release around mid-March. For the beta testing group we will email you a download link to install RiC3d.

The installer should not be distributed to anybody else, nor should RiC3d be used for production purposes during the beta testing phase.

What to expect

We’re aiming to include the following nodes in the initial release:

  • Alignment
  • Profile
  • TIN Surface
  • Corridor (e.g., Baselines, Baseline Regions)
  • Feature Line
  • COGO Point
  • Property Sets
  • Subassembly
  • Assembly
  • Pipe Network
  • Pressure Network
  • TIN Volume Surface
  • And for each the basic Query/Reference, Edit and Create.

You will need Rhino 8 + licence, and Civil3d 2024~2026 installed on your machine to participate.
