Rhino Grasshopper Tekla Live Link Rebar Group Not Generating All Bars

Hello,

I am currently trying to create a grasshopper script that can generate rebar for the battered side of a curved retaining wall stem. I have individually generated each desired rebar as a polyline and grouped them in a data tree by wall segment. When I apply the required inputs to the rebar group component, Tekla correctly displays all the control points of the polylines but does not generate all the bars required. What is the issue and how can I get all rebar created? Thank you!

Hi Alex,

Try applying an “From plane” offset to the far side like this:

Adjust the second number until the last bar appears.

This behavior can happen with tapered curved rebar groups. The more curvature, the more the rebars get pushed apart and the outer ones start disappearing. It seems it’s always been like this but I haven’t been able to track down the logic behind it so can’t give a formula for how to find the required offset to counteract.

Hi Seb, how do I directly modify Circle Rebar Group? I found that Modify Rebar Group component is not appropriate for Spiral-shaped rebar or Circular-shaped rebar group.

Hi,

Spiral and Circular groups can now be modified with that same component. This made it into 1.22 as the last fix
