Hi everyone,
I am Danila Kakhutin, a parametric design and automation specialist based in Buenos Aires. I am currently available for remote project-based work or ongoing collaboration.
I have six years of experience in architectural, action-sports and public-space projects, including more than 50 completed projects. My role has usually been between an initial design idea and its technical implementation: developing complex Rhino geometry, turning it into structured project data and components, and building Grasshopper workflows that reduce manual work for design teams.
I can help with:
- complex and configurable Rhino geometry;
- Grasshopper systems for design development and repetitive project workflows;
- technical model cleanup, validation and finalisation;
- survey, terrain and point-data processing;
- quantity extraction and structured project-data export;
- component generation and CNC-oriented geometry preparation;
- Python tools and internal Rhino workflow automation.
Below are three examples showing different parts of this work.
Parametric timber ramp system
A configurable Grasshopper system that transforms two boundary curves and a compact parameter preset into a complete timber structure. It generates structural ribs, joints, slots, holes, modular connections, two-layer cladding and CNC component contours. The system also validates input geometry, reports potential collisions, produces a visual inspection drawing and bakes the model into an organised Rhino layer structure.
Linear structures are fully automated, while complex nonlinear structures are generated automatically with operator-controlled configuration and validation. This reduced the development of production-ready structures from weeks or months to just a few working days.
Scenario-based geometry, time, animation and light
A modular Grasshopper workflow connecting geometry, time, camera movement and lighting. It allows complex visual scenarios to be controlled from a single system and reused for different spatial and presentation tasks.
Project geometry to structured data
A workflow for extracting attributed components, quantities and material information directly from a Rhino model. It was assembled within one working day for an urgent project and prepared data for more than 100 components for transfer to the estimating team.
I am particularly interested in technically demanding Rhino/Grasshopper work where complex geometry, project data and automation need to operate as one coherent workflow.
My portfolio and CV are attached below. I can communicate clearly about technical tasks in writing and am open to both individual project requests and longer-term remote collaboration.
