I stared to learn Rhino and Grasshopper since 5-6 month, but I am lost. I want to use it for Large format additive manufacturing. Lucky my employer sponsor me a education for it.
So would you please suggestion me good course? I want to learn Rh+Gh to automated, data driven design etc. I will attach some images for reference.
I cannot provide you a good course, but maybe lower your expectation from such a course. As always you should not try to learn a tool, but the theory beneath it.
If you are not experienced in modelling, then learn it first. GH is an automation/programming tool for Rhino in the first place. Be aware that modelling in it is a trade-off. GH offers only a subset of Rhino. But it obviously works great for patterns. But you almost always need some workarounds…
Essentially you replace the absolute movement with mouse in a relative manner, therefore its is important to understand the math behind it, and how to approach it programmatically. It helps to learn scripting in parallel, because it lets you understand how components might work and gives you alternative possibilities in solving a particular issue.
But there is little hope to do a course for a week and then be a better user. I guess most people learn it by doing.
+1 to this, I feel like I have become proficient in grasshopper now after using it for many many different tasks consistently for 2 years. I’m sure theres a lot of use cases I still don’t know, but I atleast know how to start learning it (facade design, form manipulation, a particular plugin like panelling tools or ladybug, etc)
