Rhino freezing randomly

Hi everyone,

I recently downloaded Rhino 6 in evaluation version. My problem is that Rhino freeze randomly for 30 secondes every 5 minutes more or less. As I work frequently on that software and I am planning on buying a licence, could anyone share any advice/solution ? Thanks

My config:
Intel Xeon 2,80 Ghz
Ram : 16G
GPU : Nvidia Quadro M4000

Please post the textual results of the Rhino command _SystemInfo.

Here is the system info :

You should at least update your driver.

I was actually also interested in the loaded plug-ins, but you didn’t paste those along with the first part…

my bad :

I tried to update it but it said that it was the latest version… i think I have to update it manually.

If you are not using a 3D mouse, can you please try disabling

With only one Rhino instance open you can do so through Tools > Options > Plug-ins, right-click on the 3D connexion plug-in and choos to load-protect. Then restart Rhino and see if the freezes still happen.

Please report.

Probably a good idea

It still freeze after disabling 3D mouse plugin’s protection.
I’ll try updating manually the graphic driver, i’ll come back to you after i tried.

Turns out that even with a newer driver, Rhino still freezes…
I can’t see where the problem comes from

For the record, what is the result now with the Rhino command _SystemInfo?

You still have the 3D mouse plug-in running. Try disabling it again: make sure after Rhino restart the plug-in is actually not loaded.

It doesn’t reload when I restart Rhino, it still freezes though.

I’m guessing you’re not using anything like Duet Display?

Not at all

Using Rhino 3dm files from locations that get synced with some cloud service? Dropbox, OneDrive, etc? Or on a networked drive?

Maybe the company server is creating conflict but I doubt it because other worker do have Rhino working just fine. The .3dm files are on my desktop. Could the zoo cloud licence create some issues ?

Hi Paul - can you disconnect the machine from the network/internet for a few minutes and see if that makes any difference?

-Pascal

Hi Pascal ! During few minutes I tested without internet and it seems way better ! Strange thing though that the server is slowing down the software… I will try for a longer period to see if it’s the entire problem.
