I have a big file (close to 1000 mb). When I open it, it very commonly freezes after opening such that I cannot click on anything, and the only way to close the file is quitting it from task manager. It doesn’t happen every single time, but much more often than not. The only thing I have noticed on the times that it doesn’t freeze is that a dialogue showing missing image files of material textures pops up to which I can click past and the model works as normal. It works when I import the model into a blank file set to wireframe, however this means I have to re set-up camera views every time I open which is very time consuming. I have also tried to disable the Enscape plug in but it hasn’t changed anything. I have also made sure to save and close my file set to wireframe or shaded view but sometimes the problem still occurs. Is there any way to fix this?? Any insight would be much appreciated.
Hi @wlbean
First thing to do is to run the SystemInfo
command in Rhino and post (copy/paste) the entire resulting text here. That’ll give people an idea as to what system specifc problems/limitations/challenges there might be

Hello - I would first disable Enscape in Options > Plug-ins page, then close and restart Rhino. Does that sort it out? If not, I would uninstall Citrix and try it all again.’

Hi, I’ve tried disabling Enscape and it doesn’t seem to fix anything. I don’t believe I can uninstall Citrix on my laptop as it is a work laptop and IT requires it be installed there. Are there any other leads on this? Thanks a bunch!
Hi -
How long do you typically wait until you force-quit the application?
Also, is that file located on a server, and, if so, does it open without problems when that file is moved / copied to the laptop’s local drive?
