Rhino Freeze Bug with Custom CPlane and Z Axis

Rhino freezes once I set my custom CPlane inside the workspace. In the video, you can notice the command text in the upper part of the Rhino interface “flickering”; the bug becomes visible from minute 3:28 onward.

The freeze starts after running the Orient command (I also want to point out another issue: when I press 0 to set the origin, sometimes the value is not even written in the command line, and I have to restart the command and try again) or the Line command. Starting from the 0 origin of the CPlane, when setting the Z axis while holding Shift (the blue Z line appears), Rhino freezes.

To unfreeze it, I have to click the Rhino icon in the taskbar, minimizing and reopening the Rhino window without actually closing the program.
I am using Rhinoceros 9. I have not yet checked whether the same issue also occurs in Rhinoceros 8.

@brvdln can you still repeat this behavior in the latest WIP?
if so, pls run _SystemInfo and post back the results. I could not repeat the behavior you are showing using the orient command.

With the latest update, the flickering issue no longer occurs, but the CPlane still has a display problem: if there is an object behind it, the grid visibility disappears.

this is intended behavior. But you can change that in your display settings if you don’t like it.

Ah, okay. I didn’t realize that hiding the grid was intentional. I’ll see if I can adjust the setting, because I really don’t like how it looks this way. Thanks, @Gijs
