Rhino file access denied

Good Day
Can anyone please help me with this error on my file, its a retrieved file from file scavenger, this file contains all my drawings for my submission could anyone please help me?
Thank you

Hi @Ayxs,

Difficult to know what’s going on as we don’t know what changes might have been made to your copy of Rhino when it was cracked.

I would look for other .3dm files on your PC (outside the folder where you normally save files) and see if they can be opened. That way you’ll know if its just the one file affected.

It may be that your best bet will be to restore an older version of your file from backup and redo your recent work.

Hope you manage to get it sorted.

Regards
Jeremy

Rather than using pirated software, support McNeel and purchase a true copy from them.

There is a command called Rescue3dmFile, but if it’s trying to recover a file some recovery software (which was probably also cracked like Rhino) failed to fully recover, yeah it’s probably gone.

The version on rhino is a team licence that my university uses…

Maybe have your University IT departement contact sales@mcneel.com and ensure they do it the right way. We don’t have corporate builds:

You don’t appear to be member of any team as far as I can tell.

Anyway, _Rescue3dmFile might work, or maybe look for 3dmbak files. Perhaps even check your trash can on the desktop. Autosave moves older versions there instead of fully deleting them right away.

The “team license” is probably just someone at the university handing out individual cracked Rhino copies to “team” members.

It’s pretty appalling to see this type of illegal behavior being accepted by an educational institution.

Well you know, software should be “free”… meaning only exist due to the patronage of a few very big companies with excess developers.
