Rhino exporting STL on rhino8 keeps being huge files

this is happening on rhino8 on my work desktop.
but if I do the exact same setting and export from rhino 8 on my other PC, files are a qourter of the size.
changing setting seems to not impact the export. seems like a bug on the one rhino 8 install.
what to do next?

The ASCII vs Binary format makes a big difference under Options. Which encoding is being used in both machines?

yes, binary is used. but i also tried Ascii and I get the same large size.
I switch back to binari, and still gives the large size.
on PC2, binary is small file and Ascii is large file size.
seems its stuck on Ascii maybe? but no matter what I do reboot/restart/new file. its always large size on PC1

You can see if it is ascii if opened in Notepad and it looks like something that could be read.

Can we get the 3DM file to look? Can we also get the two stl files?

it does it on PC1 on any export out.
yes, its Ascii and read on notepad.
but when I export its on binary (I tried both, but it always export Ascii)

Another thing we should to too is run systeminfo in rhino on both machines. Let’s make sure now configurations differences may pop up?

Thanks for the files I will take a look.

Solved,
Uninstalled and installed Rhino.
now Ascii and Binari export correctly.
No more issues with both Binari and Ascii exporting as Ascii
