Rhino Evaluation - Can we install on multiple laptops to teach a class?

Greetings All.

Before I bug the fine folks at McNeel it made sense to ask here first. My company has 6 seats of Rhino (Zoo license server). I am teaching a class for our employees on learning Rhino. We acquired 5 laptops for the classroom but they will be offline. I am hoping there is a simple way to temporarily install the Rhino 8 Evaluation on these laptops. I believe McNeel issues a temp license for Evals but am not sure if it works on more than one PC. I’m really hoping to avoid setting up multiple accounts or somehow transferring our existing licenses. Tried downloading the eval today but the download page showed a box with an expired serial number. Any insight on how to set these 5 laptops up with Rhino Eval would be sincerely and greatly appreciated. Thank you kindly.

Rhino licenses are not tied to a single computer, evaluation licenses are no exception. But every license of Rhino can only be running on one pc at a time.

Thank you so much for the quick reply! If I called McNeel on Monday is it possible they could issue me 5 eval licenses so I could teach this class? None of the 5 laptops have email accounts or are online so my hope is to install the Rhino evals via flash drive and key code. Does this sound doable? Thank you again.

No that’s not how it works. A user is entitled to download and install an evaluation license, and they can use it on any machine, just like the commercial version and use this for 90 days.

We don’t have licenses that are tied to be temporarily used per machine it is installed on.

That’s going to make things difficult. An evaluation version is for one individual and each individual does need a separate Rhino account. So either you get the machines online and have each person create an account and install the license on that machine - you can take the machines back offline afterwards - or, you are going to need to do 5 offline installs. For the offline installs AFAIK you will still need 5 separate accounts, you canot have multiple evaluation licenses linked to one single account.

Thank you gentlemen. This gives me a better judge of setup time and steps. I appreciate the responses and good info. Cheers.
