# Rhino crashing every time rendering tab is opened

Every time I open the rendering tab on the toolbar, Rhino crashes instantly. This problem has only occurred since updating Rhino8 to its latest version.

Hi Oliver -  
Is it possible that you have also updated the macOS version lately?  
If so, switching to CPU on the `Rhino Render` page in the Rhino Options will make the crashing go away. We have this issue on the list as RH-86119 (Crash When Picking Materials Panel on Mac) [not public] and are in touch with Apple.
