Rhino crashes using all 48 GB of physical mem trying to read 3 GB STL file

Hello all … ummm trying to figure out how to get rhino7 to read 3.8 GB stl file. Rhino 7 immediately grabs 9 gB of mem then climbs to 48 GB and crashes. Rhino 6 crashes but Rhino 5 will eventually read the file using only 5 GB of physical mem? This is on an up to date windows 10 pro osbuild 19041.985 Xeon 64 bit machine.

Please post the results of the Rhino command _SystemInfo.
