I am currently doing landscape work which requires working with Georeferenced CAD files such as DWG and DXF. In AutoCAD, civil 3-D, and map 3-D, the user has the ability to set a Coordinate Reference System for the drawing. This allows the drawing to be exactly located in Georeferenced software such as QGIS, Arcgis, or global mapper.
Whilst there is a workflow utilising grasshopper, thanks to Heron, it is sub optimal as it requires lossy conversion of geometry information for geospatial file compatibility.
At least for Projected x,y,z reference systems, can Rhinoceros 3-D please be made to support//create/preserve Coordinate Reference System information when importing, editing or writing at least with DWG or DXF files?
This feature would help the firm I work with consider Rhino for their workflow.
