Hello! I have been digging around the forum and trying to create hatches for a bit. I think I have the hang of most of it, but it is working so smoothly for other materials like “concrete” or “solid” that I really want to find a way to get what @koramblyum mentioned above, the “x” shape on a stud used in so many drawings. It is used to show that piece of wood is coming toward the drawing and cut. It might be outside the scope of this but I thought I would ask. In a perfect world you would be able to set the base point as always a corner of the stud and it would align perfectly to the other corner, even if you had a 2x4 or a 2x6 or a 4x4. (but if its a hatch I imagine those would be different layers) Then you could just model all your studs and when you clipped them they would have the “x”.
I’ve attached some screenshots of what I’ve tried, using rhino/downloaded .pat files and rotating or manipulating, but doesn’t seem to work.
