Rhino 8 won't open

I have tried to uninstall and install again, I have tried to restart and shut down the computer, I have asked several professors and grad students and no one knows what to do. A loading/start-up screen will start, but then it crashes and never opens. Please help me, I have final presentations next week!

Does starting in Safe Mode work?

Is your computer a below-spec laptop that needs driver updates?

Does Rhino open in safe mode? (search for Rhino 8 in safe mode in the windows start)

If it does please run SystemInfo in the command line and post the results.

There were a few people that had issues with recent windows updates.

Try repairing your Microsoft redistributables

Safe mode runs, yes. Computer should have correct specs(recommended specs from my architecture school)

The open GL needs to be on the Nvidia Card.

Soooo, you bought a laptop with hybrid graphics and rhino doesn't run right. READ THIS

Hybrid graphics laptops are more and more common if you buy a consumer grade machine. (I recommend buying a mobile workstation for professional modeling but these hybrid machines are quite prevalent in the consumer market, especially for students.) They tend to generate a TON of tech support here because of the way they are set up from the factory. Hybrid systems are built with 2 graphics processors. A low power graphics chip (typically Intel HD or UHD) and a high power graphics card. However…

If that doesn’t resolve it update the Nvidia Driver.

Repairing these files worked! Thank you. I will also fix the graphics for future reference. Unfortunately I did grab the computer/specs that my College of Arch recommended and did not deep dive enough.
