If I’m reading the upgrade page correctly I could upgrade my R6 version to R8 for the same cost as upgrading from R7 to R8…? Will this same option be available for a R7 to R9 upgrade…?

Yes.
Well, if it’s the same as in the past, yes. One can upgrade from ANY previous Rhino version to the latest for the same price. Even Rhino 1.0.

At this point I just haven’t seen anything in R8 that will make my job easier or more productive. I think I’ll stick with R7 for awhile. That will also keep me from having to figure out how to update all the custom scripts that great folks like you Mitch have written for me over the years.

I have already tried it…In the past I have always ran the WIP I just didn’t find anything that helped me in my line of work in R8.
On the basis someone purchasing v7 earlier in the year one is really disappointing that McNeel wants to charge a further £620 or use the limited offer of £414 for the privilage of updating a recent full purchase of Rhino.
Im pretty sure back when Rhino 3 or 4 was to be launch McNeel offered purchases a free upgrade.

all versions from one major number to another have always been paid.
We never force anyone to upgrade, and never penalize anyone from skipping an upgrade.
upgrade from v1 to v8 at the same cost as v7 to v8.
