Rhino 8 update failure

Hello,
Since last week, rhino has been trying to update without success.
When I close the software, it prompts if I want to update, I say yes. And then an error message appears :
" the component you are trying to use is located on an unavailable network…
C:\ProgramData\Package Cache{70A02060-5D0D-4A80-A247-452F1BD7FAA1}v8.13.24317.13001\ "

It asks me to point to a location where there is actually a ‘rhino.msi’ file. But I don’t know if it is looking for an “update installer” or the installer one can download from the website.

Is it happening / has it happened to anybody ? Can help ?

Thanks in advance

Hi rafaf,

See this guide for steps to resolve. This is typically due to running something to CCleaner and it removes something it shouldn’t.

The Windows Installer cache cannot find a file or registry key required for uninstall. This is a common problem caused by the Windows Installer Service. The best solution is to use Windows Install Clean Up to thoroughly remove the previous installation. After you clean up the previous install, you will be able to reinstall Rhino and get a valid install.
