I wanted to flag an issue I’ve been experiencing that might affect other users as well.
After installing the Twinmotion Datasmith Exporter plugin for Rhino 8 on macOS, Rhino 8 completely stopped launching. The application crashes immediately on startup, before even reaching the main interface.
I tried uninstalling the plugin by removing the file manually, but the problem persisted — Rhino still wouldn’t open. I eventually managed to get it running again by hunting down and deleting all residual plugin files from the Rhino application support folders.
This seems like a significant compatibility issue between Rhino 8 and the Datasmith plugin on macOS, and I imagine it could catch other users off guard.
Would it be possible for the team to look into this and provide either a fix or a cleaner uninstall procedure for the plugin? It would also be really helpful to have a warning or a note in the documentation flagging this incompatibility until it’s resolved.
