Rhino 8 SR25 crashes when switching from 4-view to single-view window

Hello,

I am experiencing a recurring crash in Rhino 8 SR25 (build 8.25.25328.11001, Git hash: master @ 14cb4406ecadfa9b5d0230ac10bd86175bd37aff).
My license type is Educational, Stand-Alone.

System details:
- Windows 11 (10.0.26200 SR0.0) or greater
- Physical RAM: 32 GB
- .NET 8.0.22
- Hybrid graphics configuration:
   • Intel(R) UHD Graphics, 2 GB, driver date: 2025-09-12
   • NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 Laptop GPU, 16 GB, driver date: 2025-12-02
- OpenGL version: 4.6.0 NVIDIA 591.44
- Rhino graphics settings: Safe mode OFF, GPU tessellation ON, accelerated hardware modes ON

Problem:
About once a week, Rhino crashes specifically when I switch from the 4-view layout (quad viewport) to the single-view layout (one viewport). Sometimes it seems to "recover" briefly, but then it crashes again. Drivers are up to date, and the issue persists.

Has anyone else experienced this behavior with Rhino 8 SR25 on a hybrid GPU system? Are there recommended settings or fixes to prevent these crashes when changing viewport layouts?

Thank you!

Hi Leonardo, Please run the systemInfo command and post the results. Thanks!

Are you running any plugins?

As @Japhy mentioned, posting your complete systeminfo report will help us help you-

Lets try a repair install: Go to Add/Remove Programs>Rhino 8>Modify>Repair

Thank you for your support. Rhino is working perfectly today, and as on other occasions, I don’t know why this happens. Other times I have changed the graphics card drivers and followed instructions from chat gpt, but when it is repaired, I never know how I did it. One question: sometimes I view directly on my laptop, other times I connect a larger screen and work with that. Could this be one of the causes of the frequent crashes?
