Rhino 8 shows up as Rhino 7 on Taskbar

This is happening to me with Rhino 8 Commercial (and also happened in the Eval version)
Tried running from original .exe file; pinned taskbar; and each as Administrator. No luck. Keeps showing up as RH7 in taskbar.

The same thing has been happening to me also, right up through the latest version I have installed ((ver. 8.4.24016.19001, 2024-01-16). In fact, Rhino 8 seems to even go to the Rhino 7 subdirectory to load drawing templates.

Hi @Alan_Farkas and @Robert_Munzner,
I am experiencing the same problem.
Were you able to solve it.
I guess deinstalling Rhino7 will help, but I am not that far yet.

I am pretty sure it has to do with the Rhino8 WIP, because I remember a similar behaviour with the WIP.

Hi @tobias.stoltmann I actually had an issue that necessitated a fresh windows install, so I just installed RH8 (and didn’t install RH7)

Sorry, not the fix u were hoping for

So, actually, now I’ve had to install Rhino 7 because UE Datasmith Exporter for Twinmotion doesn’t work in Rhino 8 (le sigh)

And of course, now my icons for RH7 and RH8 are both appearing on the TaskBar as “Rhino 8”

Any movement or thoughts on this anyone?

Thx

Alan
