We are trying to render an interior space, with emission lights material. the result of the render is very dark and we can see only the emission assigned objects. on the other hand, the raytraced display mode is giving good results. what is the secret ? is there a solution ?
the two images are attached.
Raytrace and Rendere are NOT the same things.
Raytrace is a mathematical calculation fo the light diffusion and transmission while Render is just a preview.
You might get some result by enabling the sun and skylight for the rendered view but the two images will never be equal.
Otherwise why to have 2 thing doing the same?
thank you, yes we understand this point. but the render is not showing the emission material as the raytraced, what we can do or change to get a lit render with the emission material assigned to the objects ?
Another option to give it a shot is using AMD ProRender. You can download it from Package Manager by searching “prorender”.
AMD ProRender can use either AMD or Nvidia recents GPUs.
If I’m not sending the objects to Blender for Eevee or Cycles, I use ProRender in Rhino.
You can use post process as well to give the scene a finishing touch inside Rhino.
You’re taking about the Rendered view mode? It’s OpenGL, it can’t do raytraced emissive materials, full stop. You would need to add in fake light objects to illuminate it.
Rhino Render and Raytraced should be exactly the same. I can see some noise of the emissive lights in the Rhino Render you shared. But as said they should be exactly the same. I would need to see the file to see what is going on.
If you can share the model with me via our upload tool I can have a look. I have prefilled my e-mail address so that I get notified when the upload has completed. Files uploaded with our upload tool will stay confidential.
That is assuming you actually are using Rhino Render and not Legacy Rhino Render.
Thank you so much ! we have checked again if we are using the rhino render, and apparently this was the issue ! we have been using the legacy rhino render. what is the difference between them ?
The legacy Rhino Render is what was in Rhino 5 and Rhino 6. Raytraced was introduced in Rhino 6, and after that the Cycles engine was moved to also power Rhino Render in Rhino 7.
Legacy Rhino Render is a completely different engine to the Cycles engine.
