Rhino 8 Pen detail crashing Rhino PDF export

I have a series of pages with pen details, it has been working fine but now Rhino crashes every time I try to export a pdf in pen mode. I went so far as to convert all other pages back to shaded and selectively switching the page I need back to pen mode and it continues to crash.

Hi Dani,

Did you modify the Pen mode or is it default? Can provide a small example file and the .ini (if you customized your displaymode) . I haven’t been able to repeat in a simple example. Thanks

Pen mode has not been modified, I tried making a small example file but the issue didn’t exist. I then tried Save As and unchecked plug in data and selected save small, same issue where in shaded or ghosted the prompt immediately pops up and I can print and it completely freezes in pen mode and crashes.

Lets try a clean install of the latest Nvidia T1000 driver.

  1. download driver from nvidia
  2. choose custom install
  3. check the clean install option

Followed the instructions and updated - still crashing. Ghosted and Shaded mode working fine

If its not too much trouble lets try running the Reset command and Restore defaults.

A small example file of this setup would be helpful. Thanks

I tried Reset and Restore, I attempted to make a sample file but it doesn’t replicate the issue - I think part of the issue is the file size, I just converted some elements to blocks.

As a test, I did a SaveAs small and it converted the file down to 100MB, I then tried to make a pdf of the page with all of the detail views and while it took a while to load, it was able to process it as a vector pdf. However, when I went to save the file again it jumped the file back up to 400MB
