Rhino 8 Merging multiple objects to prepare for mesh or shrinkwrap

Hello. I’m just a beginner, and my apologies if this specific topic has been covered before. I have this mess of overlapping objects I want to simplify and merge, and prepare for 3d printing. When I shrinkwrap this as is with enough detail to preserve the steps, I get a bunch of wonky holes in the mesh. I have attempted to join and booleanunion, both fail. I know I need to clean up this geometry, but I’m kinda stuck.

This model was done vaguely along the tutorial “Rhino Course: Beginner to Advanced in 2.5hrs” by Legacy Design Studio. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ULYQZF4iMB8 , except instead of sub-d’s for the ‘railing’ objects, I used slabs. Also everything’s in inches and not to the right scale, I didn’t expect to get this far today tbh.

I’m totally up for re-doing this model if something is fundamentally f’d, but would love advice on workflow practices to counter all these dumb little problems I’m having.

Thank you all for yout time and input, I do appreciate it.

Actually the model is in feet, not inches.
Options > Units

To change the units click on the units for the drop down list of units. Then select the desired units, for instance millimeters. (You may need to scroll the list of units up to see millimeters.)

Click “OK” and a pop-up will appear.

The base is currently 15 units in diameter. If you want it to remain 15 units in diamter then select “Change unit system only”. If you want it and the rest of the model to be scaled so that it is the equivalent of 15 feet in the new units then select “Change unit system and maintain object sizes.”

Thank you, that’s good to know!
