Rhino 8 MacOS Crashes when switching to custom Viewport

Hello,

I’m trying out Rhino 8 on a MacBook Pro Max M4 (OS Sequoia 15.1). I tried to use some files that my Windows laptop couldn’t handle, and it felt snappier. Make2D is incredibly fast. However, I tried to use some of my custom viewports. In a small file, it worked fine, but when switching to a bigger file, it failed to change and automatically crashed.

Do you know if I’m doing something wrong? I really want to give a Mac a try.

I tried switching renderer between CPU and metal but no difference so far.

Thanks in advance!

Hi Gonzalo -

What is a custom viewport?

I’m not finding any crash reports from you. Does the crash reporter pop up after Rhino crashes? If so, please always send in the report.

Hello Wim, sorry my bad, I misspelled that name of the option. I’m still getting used to the software. I meant Custom Display Mode (Display Options> Display Mode> Create Custom)

I’ll attach in a .txt the crash report because it exceeds the 400-count limit.

Crash_Report_File.txt (107.4 KB)

Hi Gonzalo -

The crash reporter is there to upload the crash report to the correct developers. Please use that function.

Apart from that, when you simply copy the default Wireframe or Rendered display mode and switch to that copy, does that crash? Or does that only happen when you change specific settings? If so, export the display mode and post that file here.

Please also post the output of the Rhino SystemInfo command.
