Rhino 8 lines in mm not much difference visibly compared V5

Hi, Trying to use Rhino8
In Rhino 5 even altering line to 3 from hairline default and print preview ON, saw a difference in thickness.
Now in V8 with print preview on, I have used 3 then 5, I am up as far as 2mm and at end of the displayed settings yet its about where old 3 would be.
its in mm so expet difference,
Seems I need to go way off the new scale to get a thicker line. type in 6 and get what I would have got with 5.

How do I get blunt ends as they are rounded. ?

It was so easy to pick from a few lines shown before.
