When in the layout view, the filter (3 left of the question mark) seems to be greyed out. However, in the model space, it appears and works normally
I restarted Rhino and the issue persists. I restarted the pc to the same effect. Perhaps I have changed a setting somewhere.
I Reset all Rhino8 settings to no avail.
Perhaps I have done something wrong.
Otherwise, there are many Improvements about R8 which are becoming noticeable. Pros and cons with R7, and R8, but still the most amazing software I’ve ever used.

I believe that Dale Fugier did this intentionally. Perhaps it is a difference of opinion. In rhino 7, it seems to work both in model space and in layout space. I have personally found it a completely necessary tool especially for my current project which has 1088 layers.
Perhaps the option to turn it on would be good.
A current workaround is to go to the model space, use the filter, then go back to the layout space with the filter being applied… This extra step takes some time.
