Hi Dale,
We are a large autocad shop with the exception of myself and roughly 6 or 7 other people (mostly industrial designers) in the US and Canada that have committed to using Rhino as our primary tool in place of autocad.
The use of Rhino and Spacemouse had made the workflow exceptionally fast. Unless of course your Rhino with Spacemouse takes 10 seconds to open on every file. Our IT dept has no interest in helping with the issue as its considered a vendor problem (since spacemouse is not a problem with Autocad 2024).
As one of the advocates that pushed for the Rhino 8 update from Rhino 7, I have now come to realize that was premature. As our version r8 files are not reverse compatible with r7, my only choice is to go back to Autocad for the majority of my daily work.
Once you have developed the “muscle” memory of using Rhino and Spacemouse together, no longer using Spacemouse is a non-starter. Add a 10 sec startup delay to every file and my Rhino workflow becomes a no-brainer.
