Rhino 8 froze when adjusting native lighting color and intensity

Hi it’s a froze issue on my office workstation, as all of us having the same configuration of computer, however it only happens on mine starting July-ish. I worked on complex models with Rhino 8, using Enscape plugin to render, at first Rhino would freeze during lighting edit when the model gets to a certain point of complexity and heaviness, then one day it starts to freeze even in a new file, and consistently doing this.

It’s very frustrating, as I have to borrow my colleague’s computer to make changes to the lighting. OT isn’t very helpful to this point so I have to come here and ask. Thanks in advance.

Attached are the basic info -

Rhino 8 version - Version 8 SR23
(8.23.25251.13001, 2025-09-08)

Enscape version - 4.8.0.723

Solutions I have tried with OT of my office -
Downgrade to previous version (not working)
Downgrade Enscape previous versoin ( not working)
Upgrade Graphic card driver (not working)
Upgrade Windows OS (not working)

Hi Zhiyi -

Does this also happen when you disable all 3rd party plug-ins and restart Rhino?
Are you running Rhino with .NET Framework 4.8 because of an issue with a plug-in?
-wim

  1. Yes, still happens when I disable all 3rd party plug-ins. Also a background of this is that the whole team is using the same set of plug-ins but only I have the issue.
  2. I’m running with .NET Framework 4.8, but I think it’s a setting across the office, I’m not sure why we choose this over NET Core.
