Hi there,
Twice now I’ve had Rhino 8 abruptly reset all of my Document Properties settings - this includes reverting Dark Mode back to Light, resetting Crosshairs, Annotation Styles, custom View Styles, Mouse shortcuts etc etc.
The first time this happened, I went looking online for a solution - I stumbled into this thread (Help: lost all Rhino settings - #2 by Helvetosaur) and found that under my McNeel > Rhinoceros > 8.0 > settings folder, I do have a Scheme_Default.xml file (alongside like 18 other “settings” xml files), but I’m unsure what to do with this file; from the thread I linked, it sounds like the user just needed the Scheme xml file to get their settings back. So if my file isn’t missing, how do I recover my customized Document Properties from it, or is that an entirely different thing?
My bigger question is, working in Rhino 8 on Windows, is there no true way to export my settings and re-load them into Rhino when this happens?
The settings reset have happened at random, and abruptly - it once reset when I was working on a file, suddenly all of my custom views and shortcuts were gone.
I have maybe 1 or 2 plugins that I don’t touch, but figuring this could be causing the issue.
Running Version 8 SR11 (8.11.24254.15001, 2024-09-10)
Let me know if I can share more details on this. Appreciate your time!
