Moved to Rhino 8 about a year ago and still waiting for some updates to address a few issues. Appreciating a lot of new things we have gotten but a few things cause lots of extra work.
Scrolling under the materials panel under the properties tab, I can’t scroll with my mouse wheel within the window, my cursor must be over the scroll bar, not super ideal, can that be fixed?
Also, the match button use to be anchored at the bottom of that window which was helpful to reassign materials that were currently selected, are we able to get that back or at least modify for those who do?
In the materials panel, when I create a new material, it use to automatically highlight the name so I could immediately start labeling the new material. It no longer does and requires me a few extra clicks to get those named, which adds up over lots of material assignments. Can that be fixed?
This may be my laptop but under the layers panel and I think a few other panels, if I am using my touch pad to scroll in those panels, the scroll is like F1 speeds vs. when I use my mouse wheel, anyway of adjusting this?
A few details I think may just be a me problem not knowing the tool fully
The auto cplane is an awesome tool but lately it seems to want to readjust my views entire origin point and I need to go and reset world coordinates once I am done. Anyone else having this or is this a user error?
The record history feels like it will pick and choose which things to reflect/parametric, again I may need to dive into the details on the tool more on this one.
Lastly, will filletedges improve in Rhino 9? I was trained in solidworks over 12 years ago and I still feel like filleted edges are the most temperamental part of my models, if anything slightly intersects in, it will fall apart.
Thanks for listening to my rantings, still love the platform and the improvements we keep seeing but would love any help smoothing out at least the initial 4 issues to streamline work more.
Not all commands are “History enabled”. Rhino is not parametric like other CAD software.

Handling threads here on Discourse that are about several different issues is not easy. You’re better off creating separate posts for each issue. The first three on your list are about materials and should be posted in the Rendering category so that they get seen by the correct people.
As for Rhino 8, there is some management of expectations in order. We are currently in the phase where we are finetuning things in Rhino 9. Only critical issues are still being addressed in Rhino 8.
This sounds like something that should be configured in the Windows Control Panel or a specific application from the producer of the hardware.
The purpose of the Auto CPlane is exactly to change the viewport’s CPlane orientation and origin point. To not have to go and reset the CPlane once you’re done, you’ll want to turn off the “Sticky Auto CPlane” option.
A lot of work has gone into the FilletSrf command in Rhino 9.
I see there are 15 open issues on the “9.0” list and 47 open issues on the “9.x” list for the FilletEdge command. Those release targets are set and reset all the time, though, so it’s impossible to tell when something will actually get done. You can expect ongoing gradual changes in this area.
