Rhino 8 Change object layer, drag layer behaviour

Hi, I’m just getting into using Rhino 8. Two things I’ve come across that I think are either missing or a step back from Rhino 7.

Firstly, when changing an object’s layer using the Change Object Layer command, I can no longer type the full target layer name if it includes spaces as the spacebar now acts in the same manner as the “Enter” key on the keyboard, or “OK” button in the pop-up panel. Our files have a lot of layers, and many have similar wording (eg. hull surfaces, hull frames, hull frame rider bars, hull girders, etc). Currently Rhino 8 will jump to the first “hull” and when I press the spacebar it selects it and closes the panel.

Second, when dragging a layer in the Layer tab to move it, in Rhino 7 I could select and hold the left mouse button on the layer I wish to move and simultaneously use the mouse scroll wheel to scroll the Layers panel up or down as required. This seems to have disappeared in Rhino 8 and I can only click and hold, drag the layer to the top (or bottom) and wait for the panel to scroll by itself. It’s just a bit slower and more cumbersome (in my opinion).

Thanks,
Ev
