Rhino 7 WIP installation problem

Evening,

I’m trying to install this version of Rhino WIP 7.
rhino_en-us_7.0.20168.13075.exe

But getting an ‘download-error’ message.

So far i tried:
restart PC, disable antivir / firewall and this suggestion here:

Windows 10 is current but still waiting for the spring-update 2004

Any help would be appreciated

Please follow the instruction on the error message and email the entire log to tech@mcneel.com so we can run it through the analyzer.

That vast majority of these problems end up being you forgetting to disable your antivirus tools before running the installer.
I don’t know if that’s the case here, but just based on numbers alone, that’s the most likely cause.

antivir disabled, used admin rights to start etc.
the Instructions on the installer did end up with the same error.
offline install not possible as well.
Last R6 update had no probs

will do as you suggested then and send the mail

have a nice one!

Found the problem, so if anyone has the same issue this might help:

The the read/write permissions in the folder i used so far for downloading and installing the R7 WIPs caused the problem.
To be precise the folder ‘redist’ , autom. created during the WIP installation.

I simply changed the save path for the install rhino_en-us_7.0.20168.13075.exe file to another SSD and this time it installed even with antivir/firewall enabled.

No idea why it stopped working in the same folder tho.
Only one Win10 update comes to mind as possible cause.

Happy CADing

If you would be so kind as to send the error log file anyway, I’d still like to run it through the analyzer. The idea is so we learn something for the next person with problems. The problem is only behind you now, which is good, but let’s push ahead together.
Brian may very well have figured this out before and may have a fix for it. Without the log file, we’ll never know.

I’m glad you’re sorted.

@4f233z I had exactly the same problem (in multiple computers!) and changing the location of the installer from Downloads to MyDocuments solved the problem! Thanks
