Hello, I have been putting off upgrading the office tools to Rhino 8 due to a handful of reasons, mainly available time. Well, time has come, now in converting our Ladybug tools for simple things like wind rose monthly diagrams what worked in Rhino 7 no longer works in Rhino 8. I know there were a good amount of changes and upgrades in Rhino 8, though I am unclear as to why text could bake in Rhino 7 and not in Rhino 8. Using the Bake Objects component.
Error: 1. Data conversion failed from Text to Geometry
or if i don’t pass through a Text container
- eleFront could not bake an object: mph
yet it does in fact bake mph, though it stops there and bakes nothing else.
I am not looking forward to having to manually create all the locations where the Ladybug diagram text should be positioned. I can, just we didn’t have to before and it feels laborious and antithetical to past functionality. I hope I am missing something glaring, totally possible.
in R7
in R8
attached, test file for R7 with old LB components, a test file for R8 with old LB components and a test file with R8 and updated LB components, both R8 files stop with the compass once it hits the first text “N” which is different than the images shown above, because I had in my files split out all the linework from text. Although, this shows the situation in which I find myself.
I love eleFront and look forward to the various future updates, these tools have been very useful and I look forward to testing the inline tree shifting.
