Since today, when i open a file in Rhino 7 i get an out of memory error. I restarted already but still memory error. Every time when it crashes it creates a rhl file with the same name as the file that crashes

Hoi Pieter -
Does it only crash when you open that particular file or with any file that you have? Do you first start Rhino and then open a file or open a file directly from Windows Explorer?
Are you sending in the crash reports when the dialog comes up? Make sure to provide your eMail address and a description of what you were doing.

did you recently update your AMD driver? I had the same problem when I installed the AMD driver from October 2020. Switching back to the 2017 version cured the problem. Reported this here:
Sorry for the very late reply, had some hectic weeks. I am not completely sure if it is AMD driver related, it didn’t happen anymore the last weeks, and i indeed changed my driver recently, but it was an upgrade. I am using 20.12.1 from 4 December. Not sure it is related.
Had again an out of memory crash and this time at a very unfortunate moment, lost 5 hours of work
At a certain moment Rhino hanged and crashed a littlebit later the whole computer. Autosave was on, but i only got the file from 5 hours ago. I saved it when i started to work on it. When i rebooted I looked for the autosave file myself because Rhino suggested the file from 5 hours ago. When i tried to open the autosave file i got a "Rhino 7 out of memory " there was no crashreport. just the message.
The error was the same as the first time.

Hi Pieter - do you have the file that crashes on opening, still? Can you please zip and upload it to www.rhino3d.com/upload, to my attention? Please include a link back here, to this topic, in your comments.
I am not using sub-D in this file. Is on the todo list for next weeks
I did use a lot of boolean diffs (a patterned hole / 1200) but this was done more than 2 hours before it crashed and it worked flawlessly in that time, with no sluggishness at all. I was doing some viewcaptureto file commands adding some dimensions, arranging my layers. In short, i was cleaning up my file and preparing it for final saving it, i was ready. That is why it was so annoying that it crashed and there was no working autosave file. Why doesn’t save it to an alternating save file? In case something goes wrong with the latest save you still have the former one. specifically because it is a backupsystem in case something goes wrong.
Hei Lasse -
I’m not seeing any new files that came in through the upload site (Rhino - Upload to Support). Can you either upload that file here in a reply or upload it from that page? If you use the upload page, please make sure to include the url to this thread in the comments field.
