Rhino 7 interfering with internet connection

Hello,

I’m working in Rhino 7 on a 2021 iMac.
I have very low internet speeds and working on a huge file which sometimes takes a while to navigate and load. When I get the spinning wheel of doom my internet stalls (I know because when I’m streaming music it skips and jumps).
Is there any way of disconnecting Rhino from my Wifi? Is there a reason why it’s connected in the first place?
I’m not using any plug-ins.

Any help greatly appreciated,

Jessie

Hi Jessie -
Is this new behavior or has it always been like that for you?
Please run the Rhino SystemInfo command and copy-paste the result here.

Hi Wim,

It’s always been the case, since I bought the iMac 3 months ago.

Sure thing, thank you:

Thanks for that information, Jessie -
Access to hardware resources is handled by the operating system, and while I found a similar report on Windows, I can’t say I’ve seen this on macOS. I see that you are running a new M1 machine with macOS 11.3. I’m on an older Intel Mac running 11.5.2 and just see that 11.6 is available.

Could you please update macOS on your machine and check if that solves the issue?
