I’m a college student and last semester I was using Rhino 6 for Mac and it was working just fine. However, this semester I tried to open the application after 2 months of not using it and it kept demanding a license from me and wouldn’t even open a blank template. My school’s license has not expired, so I’m not sure why this was happening, but I somehow got it to update. Now it will at least let me open a blank template, but I can’t access any of my old files (+ it still occasionally asks for a license). I’ve tried opening them through Rhino, as well as just double clicking the file on my desktop and absolutely nothing happens. There’s not even a rainbow loading circle. Does anyone have suggestions for how to fix this? I do not want to lose my hours upon hours of work.
I’m guessing you were using a free 90-day evaluation license and it has long since expired.
That would act just like you described.
Did you purchase a permanent license?
Yup. That’s exactly what I see.
You have not purchases a license.
Well, I guess the main way to have access to your old files would be to download the V7 Evaluation - if your Mac’s system meets the minimum requirements. Beware though that after 90 days, you will end up in the same situation if you do not buy a license.
My school has a license, so as long as I’m on campus or using a VPN it should be working. I have contacted them to see if others are having the same issue. But that makes me feel better that it would be a problem with the license rather than an issue with my computer. Thanks!
