Rhino 6 License Server Failed

I just downloaded the Rhino 6 Evaluation trial and when I am prompted to enter my license code, it says the server failed to respond and this message comes up.

“McNeel’s license servers could not be reached ( A connection attempt failed because the connected party did not properly respond after a period of time, or established connection failed because connected host has failed to respond 40.84.232.28:443). Please make sure you are connected to the internet.”

My internet is working and I have all three wifi bars highlighted with access to the internet so I am not sure why this message is popping up.

I just checked and all the parts and pieces that make it run are up.
Can you get to the Rhino account and license tools through the Web interface?

When I try to add my license from the website, I also get a error from the Cloud Zoo server and I have attached a photo of what it looks like.

Are you behind a firewall?
I wonder if you have us blocked.

Hi @simone.mckibben98,

Does the dialog that says “Adding License to Cloud Zoo” show a progress bar for a while before showing the error? Or does it immediately say “An Unknown error occurred”?

Also, how are you connected to the internet?

Regards,
AJ

It has a progress bar that loads and then the “Unknown error occurred” pops up. I am connected to my school’s wifi but I have also tried connecting to my personal router and seeing if the license would work but I still get the same failed results.

Hi again @simone.mckibben98,

It seems like you’ve installed your license standalone. That is totally fine, but I was thinking that–if you had a smartphone–you could try going to www.rhino3d.com/licenses and see if for some reason it is your computer blocking something to the licensing servers.

AJ

I tried uninstalling the software and then when I reinstalled Rhino 6 Evaluation, I clicked on advanced settings and typed in the license code before the installation began. Doing it this way worked out and my license is now working! I am still not sure why when I installed Rhino 6 the first time and tried putting my license code in after installation when prompted that it continued to fail and was not working. I checked my firewall on my personal computer and there isn’t anything blocking Rhino 6. However, I would like to thank you all for getting back in contact with me in a timely manner and helping me trouble shoot my problems. Thank you so much! And enjoy the rest of your day.
