Rhino 6 lagging during copy/drag

This has been improved significantly in the latest source… For those of you willing to try pre-release software, I suggest to download the latest version of V6 (build of the day) and see if the lagging is any better or gone altogether.

I can post a link here to the latest installer if need be (or @wim can).

Thanks,
-Jeff

Has anyone tried and/or confirmed this with the latest BOTD? @wim??

Jeff, is there a YT item and a file?

-Pascal

Like Pascal, I don’t have that file to play around with.

First step, I think, is getting version information from @yoyojohn77 - that’s why I asked about the SystemInfo.

I don’t believe there is…this was a series of tune ups that no one YT item reported…nor does it require any sort of 3dm file… It was easily shown that frame rates dropped significantly when dragging just a box around in a scene that contained only that one box. This could be done either via the gumball or using the Copy and Move commands… basically the feedback getting drawn in all views as you’re trying to place/move an object caused a 4x to 5x hit in performance… on simple scenes that could be 20 miliseconds instead of 4, making it not very noticeable… but on complex scenes, with lots of geometry, views, and details, it could be 5 seconds instead of 1…which is very noticeable.

There are other threads that talk about this… here’s one where I had them try the latest BOTD, and it seems to work much better for them: https://discourse.mcneel.com/t/wireframe-preview-mode-in-move-copy-command/73216

I can either post another (more current BOTD link), or you can try the one I posted in the thread above…that’s all I’m asking for here… try the latest version (pre-released) of V6 and see if things are any better.

I just upgraded to Rhino 6.0 with my new laptop i just got few days ago, and its my first time using 6.0, im experiencing lag and delays when holding down right mouse to rotate view.

Is it just me or compared to Rhino 4.0 it wasn’t this bad…

Quite disappointed…
