Rhino 6 failure at opening file

Hello everyone.
I am working with Rhinoceros 6 on a windows 10 computer all fine until yesterday.

Suddenly Rhino is not allowing me to open any file from any other computer, it open the files I’ve created and last saved, but if someone does any modification on the file and I try to open it It just doesn’t load and It stays in the screen of the attached image.
I’ve tried many things from uninstalling-resintalling, using the latest version or rhino, clean register, exporting to rhino 5 from other computer, and so on and it just doesn’t work.

Anyone has any idea about this problem?

Thanks in advance!

Hello - can you please run SystemInfo in Rhino and post the results? What happens if you close that splash screen with the X?Still stalled?

I’ve discovered that is not that it doesn’t open, they actually open after many hours (6 hours aproximately and 65mb file in this case) of leaving the window just like that.
And If I close that splash screen it just stays black and “Not responding” as in the following image.

Thank you!

Hello - thanks, can you please make a very simple file - just a box, say - save it, close it, open it on another machine- make second box, save and see if the problem occurs? If so, please post that file here.

-Pascal

(tlira) #5

Hi Pascal.

I’ve done that test and it actually opens in my computer after doing the second box, and it doesn’t take that long, but with more complex files it does takes hours.
I’ve been trying different files and sometimes it open fast, sometimes it doesn’t, and I can’t find a constant with it, such as File size, Geometry, Blocks, and so on, any of those seems to be related.

Thanks

Hello - can you please run Audit3dmFIle and point it at a ‘bad’ file, then post the result here or send to tech@mcneel.com, to my (Pascal) attention.

-Pascal

(tlira) #7

Is it normal that it also takes long to audit?

(Pascal Golay) #8

Hello - I would say not - can you zip and upload to

www.rhino3d.com/upload

to my attention?

thanks,

-Pascal
