American Marine is looking for a full-time Rhino / 3D CAD person to join our team in South Florida.
We specialize in custom marine canvas and upholstery for yachts, and we use Rhino, ExactFlat and Proliner for digital templating and pattern development.
We’re mainly looking for someone who is:
Strong with Rhino or similar 3D CAD software
Very comfortable working with geometry and complex shapes
Detail-oriented and technically minded
Interested in digital fabrication and real-world production
Comfortable working both on a computer and occasionally onboard yachts for measurements
Experience with ExactFlat, Proliner or marine fabrication is a plus, but not required. We can train the right person.
This is a hands-on position where you’ll take real-world measurements, build and clean geometry in Rhino, develop patterns, and prepare files for production.
Full-time, South Florida.

I hold a master’s degree in Yacht Design, and my fields of expertise are computational geometry and digital fabrication. Rhino has been my main tool for over two decades — I’ve been a Rhinoceros Authorized Trainer since 2017 and work daily with Grasshopper on complex freeform geometry. Building and cleaning surfaces, flattening and developing patterns, and preparing clean files for production is exactly the kind of work I enjoy. I haven’t used ExactFlat or Proliner specifically, but the underlying logic is familiar territory and I’d pick them up quickly.
One important point: I’m based in Brussels, so I can only work remotely. Occasional travel for onboard measurement sessions is possible, and I’d be happy to discuss how to structure the templating side so the on-site work is batched efficiently.
