Rhino 3D and Mac Big Sur - problems loading existing rhino models and no views displaying

Hi everyone, just downloaded the latest public release Big Sur. Rhino will not load an existing model that was built a few days ago. So I’ve also tried to build a new model and each view is one mono grey colour. I can create a curve but cannot see it. If I change the layer to one with a different colour I still see nothing in the view. Can anyone help?

Many thanks,

Hi Andy -

I’ve put this on the list as RH-59842.
The issue with loading existing files is on the list as RH-59841.

If you depend on being able to run Rhino reliably, I can only recommend sticking to Catalina for the time being.

This is my system info:

Same here—how long before a fix? True for 6 and WIP.

the latest update of the Mac OS Big Sur appears to have fixed these issues.

Best wishes,

I’m still having problems. I have run updates with Big Sur and still unable to open Rhino 6 or WIP.

Fine now–norton conflict.

So you confirm no problem both for opening existing files and creating new ones?

I do confirm. Working fine.

I was previously experiencing this same issue but I can confirm that it is now working.

hey, so is Big Sur compatible with rhino mac 100%??

Hi -

On machines running on Intel CPUs we haven’t seen new issues running Rhino on Big Sur.
Running Rhino on machines running on the new M1/Silicone is not supported for the time being.
