Reverse engineering a machined curved tube

This is an interesting problem. How do I make a curve network (ect) That ends in planar chevrons for straight extrusions?

Because obviously projecting the chevrons will result in curved extrusions after, not straight.
And all mu efforts to make a surface start curved and end in straight sections looks realy dodgy. I tried a patch and it just went mental!!!

Is there a way to generate a surface where this can be achieved?

This is just a revolve that is machined flat. The chevron that ends up further to the left in the picture is cut deeper into the material and consumes part of the flat (and its chevron) that faces the camera in the top picture.
