I frequently have a case where I want to both move and rotate the gumball to a new reference position when working with SubD edge, vertex, or face selections prior to performing the transform—and while I can can double-click-and-then-place the gumball somewhere else, something I can’t yet do is adjust the gumball’s orientation in the new position, or automatically snap it to the orientation of that destination reference object.
This would be super useful to be able to have a key chording modifier to adjust the orientation while moving the gumball, and even more useful to have orientations “snap” to locations that are on edges and face centers which can give surface or edge normal derived “z-up” orientations either along the edge or aligned to the face UV grid orientation.
Thanks in advance for giving it some brain cycles, don’t know how hard it would be to do ![]()
